I am quite surprise at your liberalism. I am not Malay and yet I would not put racism as the second biggest failure of this govt. No doubt I put the NEP as one of the top two reason for failure of BN govt BUT its not the racism per se but the corruption which is one and the same with NEP. I would have no problem with NEP only if they caveat it with only helping the poor Malays only. The problem is of course that is difficult to do and BN govt basically impossible..
For the rest, I would not argue particulary education. As Daim Zainuddin himself said, if education is taken care of, the Malay problems would be solved. So long as we have basically a poor system particularly for the rural areas which should have invested even more than urban areas, almost all problems regarding marginalised Malays will persist..
